On Thursday 29 May 2025, the Feast of the Ascension of our Lord was solemnly celebrated at Holy Resurrection Church. On this occasion, a festive Divine Liturgy was offered, followed by a Pontifical Blessing in commemoration of the return of the Armenian Catholicosate of All Armenians from the city of Sis to the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin in 1441.

Each year on the Feast of the Ascension, the Armenian Church solemnly remembers this historically and spiritually significant event. Beginning in 485 A.D., due to historical and political circumstances, the Catholicosal See was relocated multiple times and temporarily established in various cities including Dvin, Aruch, Aghtamar, Argina, Ani, Tavblour, Tsamndav, Tsovk, Hromkla, and finally Sis.

However, although the Catholicosate wandered from place to place, its divinely established and sanctified home remained Holy Etchmiadzin—the site where, according to sacred tradition, our Lord Jesus Christ descended. From there, through the centuries, the light of divine glory entrusted by Christ to the Armenian land continued to radiate to the Armenian people and the Church.

During the festive Divine Liturgy, the faithful, united in prayer, partook in Holy Communion and reaffirmed their dedication and loyalty to God and to the Armenian Apostolic Holy Church.
