“Let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds. Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another – and all the more as you see the Day approaching.” [Hebrews 10:24-25]
When Christ began his ministry he gathered a community of followers around Him.
Private devotion has an important place in a Christian’s life however the Bible demonstrates that Christian faith is based on a community of people.
The major theme of the Armenian Divine Liturgy is the communion of the faithful of the Church with each other and with Jesus Christ in Holy Communion. Outside the main worship service, faithful are encouraged to continue their faith journey through weekly learning opportunities.
The Church of Holy Resurrection welcomes parishioners to join the faithful in the following Bible Study and Prayer Groups.
Evening Bible Study
The weekly study sessions are led by the Primate and the areas of Bible learning vary from studying selected Books, theme-based teaching or scripture-based principles on which the dogmas and traditions of the Armenian Church are founded.
Ladies Bible Study
The weekly sessions are facilitated by the Primate who provides sound Christian teaching applied to daily life as a Book of the Bible or matters of interest are studied.
The sessions are participatory and invite group members to raise questions and share experiences.
Attendance is welcome in person and on the Zoom platform.
Ladies’ Prayer Meeting
The group gathers together to worship in song and prayer. Prayer requests that are presented are sacredly honoured. A scriptural message is also provided during the meeting by either clergy or church elder.
