We are delighted our very dedicated and passionate church volunteer, Mrs Taleen Marcarian was acknowledged among the list of NSW Government Community Service Award recipients in recognition of her valuable contribution to the community, especially to the Armenian community and in particular to the Armenian Apostolic Church. The Award was presented to Taleen by NSW Leader of the Opposition the Hon Mark Speakman MP at a gathering organised by Member for Willoughby Mr Tim James on Monday 18 March at North Sydney Leagues Club.
For those who are unfamiliar with Taleen, she is a constant presence at Holy Resurrection Church, a dynamic force in her various roles and spheres of service. She is the face behind the social media and website posts for the Church and Diocese, photographer as well as videographer of all the live feeds on Facebook, and an energetic member of the Ancillary body as a key driver behind the annual Armenian Kermesse to fundraise for outreach programs or church projects that benefit our church community.
Her example of service to reach the needs of people was most evident during the Covid pandemic period when she connected the community every week with the church during the lockdowns with the live feed of services. This opened the pathway to what has now become a regular weekly service for our local community and worldwide audience.
Truly a worthy candidate and recipient of this Community Service Award, Taleen champions the essence of improving the quality of life for the community. She does so in a Christian spirit of humility always ready to share her talent, time and treasure to help others.
May God bless our dear Taleen in all her endeavours.
