The Armenian Apostolic Church of Holy Resurrection is blessed to have three choirs that regularly partake in the Divine Liturgy (Soorp Badarak) by providing beautiful voices to sing the hymns (sharagans) and liturgical music.
Loosavorich Church Choir
The Loosavorich Choir was established in 1988 and participates monthly in the Divine Liturgy (Soorp Badarak) as well as on major feast days.
The Choir consists of twenty members most of whom are dedicated, long-serving members of the church community. It welcomes parishioners of mature age and all musical abilities to join them.
The Loosavorich Choir is conducted by Deacon Vartan Elmasian.
Vartanants Church Choir
Originally formed as the youth choir by Father Vardan Navasardyan, the Vartanants Church Choir was reformed in 2013 and now consists of adults both young and older who share a love for singing and are keen to learn the choral parts of the Divine Liturgy to partake meaningfully in the worship service.
The Choir provides the choral accompaniment to the Badarak regularly each month. Regular rehearsals are held at the Church on a weeknight before rostered Sundays and new members are warmly welcome.
The Vartanants Choir is conducted by Deacon Boghos Keleshian.
Karasoun Mangounk Youth Choir
The Karasoun Mangounk Choir was established in 2005 as a Children’s Choir and is open to children aged 7 years onward who enjoy singing and are willing to learn the liturgical hymns.
The Choir partakes in the Divine Liturgy with the Sunday School on regular occasions and is supported by older choir members who continue to bring their participation and lead younger members.
The Karasoun Mangounk Choir is conducted by Deacon Vartan Elmasian.
