The Armenian Community Welfare Centre operates from the premises of the Church of Holy Resurrection. The main office is located adjacent to the Church Office and all day care services are conducted in the Edgarian Hall.
The Centre was officially established in 1982 under the auspices of the Diocese of the Armenian Church of Australia and New Zealand to assist newly-arrived Armenian migrants in their settlement.
The Centre has since expanded its services and programs to meet the changing needs of the community. It caters primarily for the aged and frail by provision of aged day care services, social support and monthly outings program.
The Centre also provides an information and referral service to ensure all members of the Armenian community gain equitable access to mainstream social and community services.
The Individual Social Support program includes accompanied/ unaccompanied shopping, transport for doctor’s appointments, companionship, online and telephone contact as well as physical assistance with paying bills.
In-house programs cover the Northern Sydney area as does the Individual Social Support program.
