The Feast of St Stephen was observed on 25 December 2023. The commemoration was conducted with great splendour and Archbishop Najarian delivered his relevant sermon, referring to our dear deacons who serve diligently each Sunday before the Holy Altar, which is an expression of their faith and devoutness.
He declared with urgency, “Your every movement, every word you utter will be taken into account by the people, therefore, you will be an example of servitude and love with your virtue, behaviour and respect.” The deacons, wearing their saghavard/helmet approached the Archbishop with censers in hand and received his blessing. Following Holy Mass, all the deacons and acolytes were received by the Primate in the Diocesan Centre where they were served with refreshments prepared by the Diocesan Ladies Guild.
