On Sunday 18 September 2022, special prayers were offered for the lives of all the faithful in Armenia and Artsakh, including those lost in these latest attacks and for the safety and security of our motherland 
From Holy Etchmiadzin, His Holiness Karekin II, the Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians, issued an urgent message calling on the Armenian faithful to unify in this time of crisis. “We are confident that the spirit of our people is strong; the soldiers guarding the borders of the homeland are courageous,” he wrote. “Now, let us consolidate our capabilities and opportunities, all our national potential, and lend our support to the Armenian Army and to the needs of our homeland.” Later in the message, he appealed to world governments and sister churches to denounce the attack on Armenia, and help bring an end to the hostilities
