On Saturday 29 April 2023, the Primate of Australia and New Zealand, His Eminence Archbishop Haigazoun Najarian officiated over the blessing and official opening ceremony of the recently completed parish residence. The ceremony was conducted with the participation of the Holy Resurrection parish priests, Chairmen of the Diocesan Council, Properties Committee and Holy Resurrection Church Parish Council as well as members of these three bodies. This residence, which is only a few doors away from the church, was built at the initiative of the Parish Council on 18 Macquarie Street Chatswood and the completion was realised by the conscientious efforts of the Properties Committee members.
Once the development approval was granted, construction commenced around March 2021 and on 27 October of that year, the foundations were blessed. Among other projects and fruitful works, this duplex project also is one of the great achievements and advancements of the parish of Holy Resurrection Church.
This building will not only serve as the parish priest’s residence but the adjacent residence of the duplex will also be a source of income for parish expenses.
