His Grace Bishop Haigazoun Najarian returned from the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin on Tuesday 6 October 2015 bringing the blessed Holy Chrism (Myuron) to our diocese.
In a special ceremony at the outdoor Altar of St Drtad on the grounds of the Mother See, His Holiness Karekin II, Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians, blessed the holy oil employed in all the church’s sacramental anointing services.
In his message His Holiness declared it to be the Myuron of Victory saying, “This chrism, blessed in this revered year commemorating the 100th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide, and with the intercessory prayers of our sanctified Martyrs, is hereby proclaimed to be the Chrism of Victory, with the belief that it shall seal the souls of our faithful with the courageous and undefeatable spirit of our Holy Martyrs.”
On Sunday 11 October the Primate presided over a water blessing service using the newly blessed Holy Chrism (Myuron) and containers of the blessed water were distributed to the congregation.
