Archpriest Father Bartev Karakashian was the celebrant on Sunday May 28, as the coming of the Holy Spirit, or Hokekaloust, was celebrated fifty days after Easter.
His Eminence Archbishop Haigazoun Najarian delivered the sermon which was followed by a Prayer for the Republic of Armenia (Hanrabedagan Maghtank), acknowledging the Anniversary of the establishment of the First Republic of Armenia by the Treaty of Batum.
“When the day of Pentecost came, they were all together in one place. Suddenly a sound like the blowing of a violent wind came from heaven and filled the whole house where they were sitting. They saw what seemed to be tongues of fire that separated and came to rest on each of them. All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit” (Acts 2:1-4)
