On 20 January 2020, Holy Resurrection Church celebrated ‘Children’s Blessing Day’ a new initiative introduced by Parish Priest Father Avetis Hambardzumyan.
The Archbishop, accompanied by the priests, Reverend Fathers Norayr Patanian, Bartev Karakashian and Avetis Hambardzumyan conducted the blessing ceremony of 75 children, joined in church by their parents and grandparents.
Following the ceremony, the Primate directed his message to the children, urging them to attend church on Sundays with their parents. All sang the Lord’s Prayer in unison and made their way into the Edgarian Hall and the adjacent grounds where lunch was served.
The playground was filled with the clatter of children’s play and laughter as Father Avetis had organised a jumping castle for the children’s enjoyment.
Our children are the future of our church and Paros editorial congratulates and thanks Father Avetis, Parish Council and all the volunteers whose efforts help to draw the younger generation to church.
