On Saturday 5 March 2016 at 3.00pm over 70 community-faithful were gathered at the Frenchs Forest Cemetery in the recently designated Armenian Section. The service was presided over by the Primate His Grace Bishop Haigazoun Najarian, with the participation of the parish priest of Holy Trinity Church Very Rev Father Nerses Harutyunyan, Rev Father Norayr Patanian, Rev Father Bartev Karakashian and parish priest of the Church of Holy Resurrection Rev Father Avetis Hambardzumyan, with the participation of ranks of Deacons.
Armenian spiritual, political, charitable, educational, media and social community groups were also represented.
Prior to the Blessing of the Lawn, the Northern Cemeteries Sales and Marketing Manager, Mrs Angela Webb gave her greeting, welcomed and expressed her appreciation to the Primate and all present, the Customer Service Manager of the same organization, Mr Mark Franklin also gave an address. The Service commenced with the Lord’s Prayer, followed by prayers and readings from the Scriptures in English and Armenian and singing of appropriate hymns. At the close all joined in the singing of the Lord’s Prayer.
All present were invited into the reception hall for refreshments. The people dispersed at 4.30pm.
