On the second Sunday after Assumption, the Armenian Church celebrated the Discovery of the Belt of Theotokos. This discovery is the basis for one of the eight feast days in the Armenian liturgical calendar, devoted to the Holy Mother. Father Avetis Hambardzumyan was the Celebrant and Homilist for this celebration on Sunday 27 August 2023.
Following the Holy Mass, a special annual requiem service took place in remembrance of the esteemed contribution of the founders, clergy, servants and benefactors of the Church of Holy Resurrection. The service was not only a tribute to the memory of loved ones, but a reminder of the devoted love, service and benefaction demonstrated to uphold the faith of the Armenian Church and ensure our rich Christian heritage continues to seal the hearts and souls of future generations of Australian-Armenians.
