On the evening of Good Friday 19 April, the Burial (Gark Taghman) and Requiem (Hokehankist) Services took place at the Armenian Apostolic Church of Holy Resurrection.
The altar was adorned with flowers during this very solemn service. His Eminence Archbishop Haigazoun Najarian gave the sermon as he explained the meaning behind each of the gospels and their description of the crucifixion and burial of our Lord Jesus Christ.
As the faithful left the church, they approached the altar, kissed the Gospel book, and took a flower in remembrance.
