On Sunday the 19th of December 2021, our ACYA members along with the Armenian-Australian Youth including ACYA Holy Trinity, AYF Australia, AGBU Sydney Youth, Armenian Students Association and Armenian Evangelical Church – Chanits, came together and led the Artsakh Commemorative Candlelight Vigil in memory of all those who were killed as a result of Azerbaijan’s attacks during the 2020 Nagorno Karabakh War.
The vigil began at the Memorial Park in Chatswood and concluded at Beauchamp Park, where the organisations laid wreaths at the Armenian Genocide Khatchkar.
The Primate of the Armenian Apostolic Church of Australia and New Zealand, His Eminence Archbishop Haigazoun Najarian led the clergy from Armenian community churches in a final prayer.
