It was an event that invoked all sorts of phrases and comments to express deep sentiments of joy. It was dynamic, collaborative, blessed, united, energised, participatory, entertaining and countless other words all put together, the sum total best expressed in Colossians 3:14 “And above all these put on love, which binds everything together in perfect harmony.”

On 22nd November 2015, the Kermesse opened with prayers offered by our Reverend Fathers remembering those facing hardship in the world during these troubled times and giving thanks for the bounty of these celebrations. The program then commenced with words of welcome followed by lively Armenian music as Blackbird band kicked off the cheer prompting vibrant Armenian dancing.

The afternoon demonstrated the community at its best with performances by students from AGBU Alexander, Alex Manoogian Saturday, Toomanian Saturday Schools and Galstaun College. Teams of dancers from AGBU Tamzara and the Armenian Sydney Dance Company highlighted the program as hundreds cheered on performers all afternoon.

Bountiful raffle draws kept the festive atmosphere going as did games organised by the Homenetmen Scouts in partnership with the Church youth (ACYA) keeping young and old thoroughly entertained.

If success is measured by the perseverance to achieve a set of goals then we truly surpassed all expectations at this event.
After thanking everyone who contributed so abundantly to the success of the day, all that remains to be said is, PRAISE BE TO GOD.
