The Arevakal (Sunrise) services continued last week, 5 March 2023, on the third Sunday of Great Lent and the lesson of the parable of the Prodigal Son.
Archpriest Reverend Father Bartev Karakashian delivered the sermon of the day, explaining how powerful God’s love is for all of us and what it means to be able to call Him “Father”.
A special Kontag message from His Holiness Karekin II was also read on Sunday in relation to the commemoration celebrations marking the 850th anniversary of the death of St Nerses the Gracious (or “Shnorhali”, 1102-1173), which falls this year 2023.
St. Nerses, Catholicos of the Armenian Church, is known for his theological, poetic and musical work, as well as for his commitment to Christian unity.
