Armenian Community Welfare Centre

The Armenian Community Welfare Centre operates from the premises of the Church of Holy Resurrection.  The main office is located adjacent to the Church Office and all day care services are conducted in the Edgarian Hall.

The Centre was officially established in 1982 under the auspices of the Diocese of the Armenian Church of Australia and New Zealand to assist newly-arrived Armenian migrants in their quest to settle in the adopted country.

The Centre has since expanded its services and programs to meet the changing needs of the community.  It caters primarily for the aged and frail by provision of aged day care services, dementia and respite care, social support and monthly outings program.

The Centre also provides an information and referral service to ensure all members of the Armenian community gain equitable access to mainstream social and community services.

In more recent years, increased youth issues have instigated new services targeting youth needs.
