Blessing of the Holy Martyrs' Icon & Procession

On Sunday 24 April 2016 an Episcopal Divine Liturgy was celebrated by His Grace Bishop Haigazoun Najarian, as well as a blessing ceremony of the replica of the Holy Martyrs icon that was commissioned specifically for the canonisation ceremony at Holy Etchmiadzin in 2015.

The triumphant entry of Jesus into Jerusalem that signals the start of Holy Week which we celebrate on Palm Sunday was symbolically replicated on Sunday 20 March 2016 with a procession of clergy, deacons and children.

Forum of the Church Body

On Sunday 21 February 2016, a forum of the Church Body was convened in the Edgarian hall with some 30 participants representing the various parts of the Church including: the diaconate, the ladies auxiliary (ACLA), ancillary body, choirs (Loosavorich, Vartanants and Karasoun Mangounk), Sunday school and youth committee (ACYA).

St Vartanants at the Church of Holy Resurrection

On Thursday 4 February 2016 on the 1565th year commemorating the Saints of Vartanants, His Grace Bishop Haigazoun Najarian celebrated Holy Mass and delivered his sermon in the Church of Holy Resurrection with over 200 pupils, 15 teachers and Principals of the AGBU Alexander Primary School and the Hamazkaine Galstaun College present.

A Gathering to Greet the New Year With New Friends

At the invitation of His Grace Bishop Haigazoun Najarian, on Sunday 10 January 2016, our newly-arrived Syrian/Iraqi-Armenian friends were welcomed at a reception to exchange greetings with one another for the New Year and Christmas. The event was hosted by the Church of Holy Resurrection in the Edgarian hall after the Divine Liturgy.

Feast of the Holy Nativity & Theophany of Our Lord Jesus Christ

On Wednesday 6 January 2016 the Feast of the Hoy Nativity and Theophany of our Lord Jesus Christ an Episcopal Liturgy was celebrated by His Grace Bishop Haigazoun Najarian. He was assisted on the Holy Altar by the Reverend Fathers who served alongside the deacons in attendance. The Church Loosavorich Choir provided the choral accompaniment.

Celebrating the Deacons of Our Church

On Sunday 27 December 2015 in commemoration of St Stephen the Protodeacon and first martyr of the Christian church, Holy Mass was celebrated in the Church of Holy Resurrection followed by a service dedicated to the blessing of deacons in which the deacons and priests participated adorned with ceremonial headdress (saghavard).

Carols on the Lawn & Children's Pageant

Our Sunday school students in the capable hands of Yeretsgin Hasmik presented a festive evening of recitations and readings to herald in the holy season on Saturday 12 December 2015.

Centenary Blessing of 2015 Newborns

A special blessing service of 2015 newborns in our community took place in the Church of Holy Resurrection on Sunday 13 December 2015 presided by His Grace Bishop Haigazoun Najarian, organised by the Parish Priest and Church Council.

It was an event that invoked all sorts of phrases and comments to express deep sentiments of joy. It was dynamic, collaborative, blessed, united, energised, participatory, entertaining and countless other words all put together, the sum total best expressed in Colossians 3:14 “And above all these put on love, which binds everything together in perfect harmony.”

Community Workshops: Demonstrating the Craft & Making of the Khachkar

The Master Sculptor, Varaztad Hambardzumyan with his co-craftsman Garik Hovhannisyan presented a number of workshops with school visits to Galstaun College, AGBU Alexander School, Toomanian and Takmanchadz Saturday Schools as well as community forums at the Edgarian Hall and Armenian Cultural Centre
